Today’s demonstration was tremendous. We marched through Seaford from the Lower School to the Salts where we heard Norman Baker MP, Frankie Jones, last year’s head girl, Councillor Jon Freeman, and the mayor, Ralph Taylor. Our plan had been to finish then, but our numbers had grown as spectators joined in from the pavements, so we retraced our steps through the town, ending back at the school.
Students brought banners, with the slogan, ‘Save our sixth form, community college, community choice’. We had whistles, songs, ’save our sixth form’ to the tune of Frère Jacques’ and slogans, distributed leaflets and we attracted cheers from those watching and hoots of support from passing cars
BBC Southern Counties have the story on their website, and reporters and photographers from the Sussex Express and the Seaford Gazette were there, so we look forward to more coverage over the next few days. See Flickr for Jack Stonehouse’s photographs.

The demonstration march to Save Seaford Head Sixth Form was fantastic today. We marched from the Lower School to the Salts via the town centre in the bright autumn sunshine. I was proud to take part along with the students, parents and local community. We were also joined by Mr Cash and Mr Mller who are ex Seaford Head teachers, Jon Freeman, the Mayor of Seaford and other local councillors. Along the route the people of Seaford warmly accepted our leaflets and offered their support, others waved and tooted their car horns. Our MP Norman Baker, spoke at our rally in the Salts, giving his full support to our cause. Thank you to the Kind Seafordians with warm words and hearts.
