The very title “Why this decision” seems to confirm that this is not really a consultation as you or I might understand it – the decision has clearly already been made. This is also obvious from the letter “this is … an opportunity for governors to receive views on this important issue, it is not a vote.” In other words, everyone’s views will be carefully filed away and taken absolutely no notice of!
The minutes of the September governors’ meeting elsewhere on this site also make this clear – the process was explained – suspension, consultation, closure – no possibility of suspension, consultation, re-opening!
Won’t stop me jumping up and down and making a fuss however!
