Response to Cleeve Park Teacher

Exactly the same style of mangement was evident when I was teaching at The Bradbourne School. Several years on people still talk of the devasting effect she had on the school which is now very successful and over subscribed. Although Seaford Head may escape if she secures yet another Headship this is not really the point. Collectively as I have stated many times, teachers, parents, governors and local authorities should take some action to the GTC so that she is prevented from ever working in a school again.

Is anybody ready for a Karmock Golds Campaign? Shall we start with a petition for No 10 which we can do on-line?

The consultation process you have had at Seaford is a classic Lynton Golds ploy. I am sure it was a like scripted puppet show with no real answers. We had quite a few of these at Cleeve Park. I must commend the parents of Seaford Head, especially Tom Roper, if only we had such dedicated parents fighting the cause at Cleeve Park School. Our school is still recovering from the legacy of Lynton Karmock-Golds as she was known at the time. But there is seems light at the end of the tunnel for your school. You will be happy to know she is busy applying for jobs, and only last week she was at an interview at Eltham Green, Greenwich. This woman is not fit to be in charge of any school and should be struck off by GTC. Keep up the good work.

Hi Tom,

Was just going through all press stuff and petition forms etc from anti school uniform protest, should you like all the contact names and addreses i will be more than happy for you to have them, the whole consultation process on the school uniform was also handled in a very poor way not giving any consideration to parents or pupils. I was just told they carry out a consultation process but irelevant to what the response was the govenors decesion is final. so why do they even bother. I have very strong views on the way these consultation processes are carried out, after all this is supposed to be a community college, but it seems to be the selected few that are to Lynton Golds expectations. I also have some usefull telephone numbers and addresses ie education and skills department and also usefull newspaper contacts. If there is anything i can do to help with the campaign please do not hesitate in contacting me. The picture of Lynton Golds in the newspaper says it all really. She is winning again. I wish you all the luck in the world with this and hope it is a success stopping this closure. We need to have a sixth form in Seaford without a doubt.

Kind regards Paula Cripps

I agree with Mr Jones. But wish to add that the Sixth Form at Seaford Head appears to never have been a serious priority with Mrs Golds since her arrival at the school.

This has been proven, with the lack of quality marketing gong into the sixth form and the website which only gives basic sixth form information compared to other colleges, and the attitude not only of Mrs Golds but also with the Governors of the School, who some of which should be representing the voice of the parents. I am still waiting for "that" phone call I requested from a parent governor last October.

My whole family has had long attachment to Seaford Head College.
Seaford should have the facility of a Sixth Form.

My feelings are that Seaford has been severely let down and a very sad day has come for students, parents and a very hard working staff.

As a parent, I did want to attend the meeting but something came up at work and whilst I could have made excuses why I couldn't work late, I felt that the meeting would only be playing lip service and that irrevocable decisions have already been taken. I think that it is a disaster for the community of Seaford that the sixth form has been axed.

As a parent who attended last night's consultation meeting I'd like to comment. Mrs Golds was upset that more parents didn't attend last night's meeting and felt that this was an indication of why the sixth form was failing. However, if parents has been told before the suspension that the sixth form was under threat and a public meeting had been held then, I think there would have been a much bigger attendance. Passions were running very high last October, as Mrs Golds alluded to herself last night. People feel that it is too late now and that irrevocable damage has been done to the sixth form at Seaford Head. If they had truly wanted to save the sixth form then the time for meetings was last October.

Though there is something that I have only just noticed...the report judges the school as a whole and then there's a column where the inspectors assess provision for 16-19s against the same criteria. Yet here the inspectors often say they could not find any evidence to make a judgment, although the school at present has both Years 12 and 13 in progress. If the inspection happened next academic year, when there will be no year 12, I could understand it. I wonder if this is a subtle criticisism?

Of course, though I wonder why it hasn't gone up on the Ofsted website yet. I may fire up my scanner again.
There are four grades, outstanding, good, satisfactory and inadequate. The inspectors found nothing outstanding, and nothing inadequate. The found the school's overall effectiveness and the achievement and standards merely satisfactory, while personal development and well-being were judged to be good, as, bizarrely, was leadership and management, though in this category they scored poorly on using targets to raise standards and on promoting equality of opportunity and tackling discrimination. Teaching and learning were judged to be good in meeting the full range of learners' needs, but the curriculum only satisfactory.
